Siblings
I adore black and white photography. It is just so emotive and ageless. Yes, I think that is what I love the most about it, it defies time. It draws you in and allows you to paint the story. Colour it in any way that you see fit.
The above photograph was taken on my phone as my camera was (unusually) not at my side. It was low light and I just converted it to black and white. I could have sharpened it up in Photoshop, removed all the noise and made it clean and ‘right’ but actually with this photograph I didn’t want to do that. I like that it looks as though it could have been taken many years ago. What I like about this photograph is the subject and the moment in time.

Go, Margaret.
I’m a HUGE monochrome fan. With the right contrast and light and tones the image can give a different story to the “real” one. Two other photographers (Gracie at http://graciebinoya.com and Polly at
http://watchingthephotoreels.com) and I began an iPhoneography Challenge this month. Please join us for this mobile arts photo challenge.
I would love to I will have to go and find where the challenge is
. I don’t use the phone much for photography and I really should because you can get some great images. Thank you for the invite and for commenting on my blog x
Lovely capture!
Thank you so much Cheryl
I love B&W photography too, the lack of colour makes it better in some way.
Me too. It really draws me in.
