Submit to you (Weekly writing challenge – easy as pie. ‘Simile’)
Too strong outwardly yet too guarded inside to accept my fate.
My pain too strong to bear, afraid of what it makes me, of what it makes us.
Has it always been there, unknown, whispering to me, tormenting my soul?
Life more unknown than it seemed before, a flower too fragile to bloom or be nourished by its roots.
Yet now I know. It comes to me, cascading over me as I sleep and it is us. Only us. More alike than we ever knew.
On a pedestal, a princess adored and robed by you. Cherished and obeyed by you.
So now I must submit to you.
