    • Hi, they are photographs that I have taken and then added the blur for a tilt and shift effect. All the photographs in here are mine. 🙂

    • Thank you, this was the first time I have played with this effect properly, swallowed my fear of heights and headed up the tower! I will play more with it another time, seeing the results is good fun.:-)

  4. I hope I can learn that tilt and shift effect. It’s interesting how the effect can make look things as if they are toys. 🙂

    • It really isn’t difficult to apply. My camera has a tilt and shift setting that I can adjust until I am happy with it, photoshop 6 also allows you to easily apply tilt and shift, or you can blur the top and bottom of the photograph using a Gaussian blur until you are happy with how it looks. It is good fun to play with on the right shots. Photographs looking down on a scene work well with this effect. I hope you get a good result. :–)

  5. Love the view over Blackpool, but they are all quite amazing. I know I would not be brave enough to stand on that glass ledge. Thanks for visiting and the like of my “From Above” entry.

    • Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I have a terrible fear of heights and didn’t think I would be able to do it, but once you are up there the view is so amazing you forget. It does feel very safe up there as well. I shall be going to the Tower again for sure. 🙂

  6. Very clever effect, Jo … ’tilt and shift’ … I’ll have to check these effects out. Fabulous array of photos for this week’s challenge!

    • It is good fun Cheryl, and really easy to do. Works great on lots of different shots, boats on the water, city scenes, anything looking down is great for it. Cannot wait to see your work. 🙂

  9. Beautiful and creative images! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting and liking my post for the ‘Weekly Photo Challenge – Patterns (in nature)” I apologize for being so slow in offering these thanks, a bit behind in my WP emails :/

  10. I agree with another reader – the shot of the child’s feet on the glass floor looks quite eerie, as if the kid is dangling and about to fall to his death. I like unexpected shots that make me look more closely…
