Strikingly lovely portrait.
I have a soft spot for seabirds. I used to stand on the quarterdeck as albatrosses … albatri? … hung in the air, only just out of reach, following every movement of the ship with no apparent effort—at any speed and in any sea state.
When they’d had enough they’d do the classic ‘peel away’, soar up and then sweep down with the very tips of their wings causing ripples in the water.
Reincarnation? Chalk me in for albatross, please …
